Just phenomenal for a tiny little country in comparison to the USA and China. I know we may not finish in 2nd but revel in the glory while it lasts.

Guaranteed more golds tonight though, so you never know........

It's wonderful As someone who grew up in the 70's, the Olympics was an embarrassing succession of high hopes and then failures, I am willing on all our sports people.

What??!! I thought it was 3!! I CAN'T stay up to watch it, I was up at 3.45am this morning to get seven horses ready for the national showjumping championships...but I really really want to! I think I'm addicted to medals atm!!

I think lottery funding has made a world of difference to how all the teams can perform but it's proved it works and delivers results.

Talent can get you so far but good facilities and equipment gets you the rest of the way I suppose. I bet Michael Phelps doesn't have to swim with the great unwashed general public, like I do every week ha ha.

Yes I think its down to lottery money, years ago our people had to train in their spare time down the local running track etc.
and knit their own shorts !
