My 2yo has a normal shaped mouth, and has just acquired her permanent upper central incisors without problem.
She is now, however, growing her permanent bottom central incisors. The problem is that they are wider than the baby teeth (deciduous) that they replaced and one of them is growing up with half of its side under the neighbouring lateral incisor, (obviously still deciduous).
Will this resolve itself when the lateral is replaced?
Advice, oh great wise ones?

ermmm, not sure what to say, perhaps give your vet a call and see what they say, but i suppose that there isnt much they can do, i would expect as long as shes ok and can eat ok then it should grow through ok and just push the the other one out, oh by the way are you sure shes 2? as i thought they got central adult teeth at 3? if im wrong then my cob is a year younger than i thought and ive been riding him!! x

I'm reluctant to call the vet, because I don't see what they can do, really. They can't pull the deciduous lateral incisor out without a general and whole lots of stress to the horse...
Technically she's 2 1/2 as she was born on 26th April 2005....and yes, I'm sure as I bred her

They are supposed to get central incisors at 2.5 years, laterals by 3.5 and corner incisors by 4.5...
In fact my 3yo has only just got her centrals too (but she was a late, orphan foal...
Thanks for your thoughts. I suppose I'll just keep checking her for pain or problems.
