I cannot stop smiling! right so will start from the very beginning...
got lost on the way there. doh. but, luckily we where early, so eventually got there and still had plenty of time. walked the course again, just so it was fresh in my mind- the course was literally like a mini badminton! was so fab, the jumps where just absalutely immaculate and sooo well built, really up to hight and quite scary for my first ever 3"3ft ODE! anyway, got back and got ready for dressage- found out i had forgot my jacket. durrr. so borrowed my friends, which was too big for me, but it did the job. wasnt having a very good start as it then started tipping it down just as i got on. warmed her up and she was really really tense, but gave her a good half an hour of pure trotwork and eventually she loosened up and went quite nicely. we rode an accurate but not brilliant test, but best so far. Judges seemed to agree, was lying about 10th after dressage which put a smile on my face
onto the showjumping, was a nicely built course, although not quite up to hight, tara flew round clear, as did most people we saw. got back and they had already put results up- not as many clears as we thought, but we moved up to 8th. great, rosettes up to 8th, so if we went d/c xcountry we would get a rossie!
onto xcountry, got on a little bit too early so got to watch some go round parts of the course- quite a few stops! got really nervous, but needn't have- tara really took me on to all of the fences and she really honestly FLEW!!! some of the fences where in the open too, and she jumped them so nicely, gave me a really nice ride! finished strongly, couldnt stop beaming!! she just ate it up like it was 2ft!
so with our double clear, we put her away and went to look at results. very efficient, and stood there watching as they put up xcountry scores (i was last to go so very tense!)...about 4 people went double clear! and i was one of them! everyone else had time and jumping faults!
but unfortunatly mine was the worst dressage of the lot, so finished 4th! out of a wealthy 60 starters!
i am so chuffed, to go so well at our first intermediate course and only our 3rd event together, really i couldnt stop smiling and i even had tears in my eyes as i ran over to give tara the biggest huggle ever!
we thought we might have gone too fast xcountry, as it is an optimum time similar to BE, but nope she was great!
have a picture of me getting my rossette which i will post later, also have a video of my sj round which i will try and upload and 2 pro pics of my xcountry but i cant put them up cos they are professional and they dont have a website
but oh well
