Ifors have upgraded the external Allen key fittings to the breast and breech bars to external eye bolt fittings. These are easier to release in an emergency, you use a wheel wrench. They can be retro fitted to older trailers, we’ve now done that.
Though the old fashioned Allen key fitting did work as intended when it happened to us - horse hooked over breast bar was released by safely dropping the breast bar from outside.
