3.5 ton lorry towing a 2 berth caravan anyone do this?

I have a pre 1997 licence, so can tow, and I am considering putting a tow bar on my Renault master 3.5 ton two horse lorry, does anyone else do this? I have seen several small lorries with caravans behind them, am now too old and with bad back can't do tenting anymore. !!! Engine is 2.5 diesel , can pick up a decent caravan for 3500 . At the moment I loan a motor home for tournaments, but my mate who then drives lorry is planning to get her own so a caravan will be my answer to sleeping arrangements. I don't wish to swop to a 7.5 ton with living.
 
Yes, its not a prob.
My box is a V.Movano 2.5 - we also have a long wheelbase high top Movano van 2.2 too for DH.
Both have tow bars & we've towed our 4 berth caravan with each & its not been a prob even when DH's van fully loaded to gunnels or horsebox with 1 big one in.
Just remember to go & practice cornering, reversing etc - you'll be suprised at how many people c*ck-up this as the combined wheelbase is so long!

You need to find the weight plate on the vehicle which is usually either under the bonnet or in a door frame but can be almost anywhere !!
There will be 4 figures on that plate but we need the top two
The top figure will be the GTW
The next figure down aill be the GVW
Normally GTW minus GVW = the maximum actual weight that it can tow = max towing capacity

If caravan when loaded is under that max towing weight then off you go = smile

You might also find the weight info on the V5 registered keepers document so that might be worth a look
