Hi, I am hoping to buy a 3.5 tonne horsebox soon. I have been doing some research but am hoping you guys can offer your experiences on them, what models/makes you like best, how reliable they are, safety aspects etc. I currently use a very old Renault Master which needs replacing as it is on it's last legs! Am considering getting a newer one of these as I do really like it. Have seen ones made on Vauxhall movano's though the payload doesn't seem to be very high with these? Also considering ones by Thoroughbred because they have a larger payload (ideally I want at least 1.3 tonne) Also there are the equitreks, though don't really know much about these. If anyone could offer any advice/insights it would be really appreciated! Also is anyone has bought one off a company and can recommend one that would be really appreciated to!

Thankyou :)

I've got a vw lt35, really nice box, travels our 2 16hh boys no prob, nice bit of living and easy to drive! ive heard mix reviews on the equi trek's!

I also have the VW LT35. Lovely box, never let us down, even when not started all winter!

However, there is no way legally you could put 2 16hh in there. Mine can legally take 1 13hh and 1 14hh, both light weights, plus water tack and 2 people.

Thanks for the advice guys. It is for two small horses, doubt they weigh over 950kg alltogether but will weigh them properly one day just to be sure! Equitrek has a place near me so may go and visit that soon. That one on horsedeals does look lovely!
