Hi
Roughly how much does it cost to insurers, maintain and run a 3.5 box. Thinking of a conversion type for just 1 horse
Also how well do they hold their value?

Many thanks

I have a 3.5t conversion (the boxy type, not still van-shaped if that makes sense)
My insurance is £240/year for anyone over 25 to drive
Tax is £12 a month ish
I've had it 5 years soon and spent a total of less than £600 on it including tyres and it has flown through each MOT. Got new battery, new windscreen, tyres and services.

I bought it for £15k and I'd still get at least £12.5k now so much better at holding value than cars etc.

Wouldn't know about the ones which still look like vans.

I suspect they will hold their value less easily now that the towing laws have changed and anybody with a normal licence can tow.

I bought my van type 5 years ago as a new conversion. I use it a lot.
Seen 2 that are the year older than mine, advertised for more than I bought mine for 5 years ago.
Insurance is £240 about £100 for breakdown. Probably about £800 a year on repairs

Mine costs;
£200 per year parking space
£300 ish insurance and breakdown
service and mot usually cost £300 ish a year
then tax is roughly £230 ish (cant remember exactly)
i did pay last year for ramp and floor inspection but that was just to be safe

It hasn't gone down in value in several years surprisingly.

I have a Renault Master van conversion & totally love it. It's so easy to drive & light on fuel. I previously had 7.5 ton & was worried that the van wouldn't have enough oomph, but you can hardly tell it has a horse in it & it's actually faster than my car (not that I push it with a horse on board). I have had it since newly converted.

MOT cost me £55 last year from a local garage.
Tax is about £240.
Breakdown is about £140.
Insurance £220 ish.

I go out n about all over the place by myself which I wouldn't have done in the DAF as driving it was a bit of an ordeal.
