I am looking at a van which has done 150000 miles and is about to be converted. Would you pay an extra £1k to get a van which has only done 80000 and is 2 years newer instead or would you not worry about mileage? NB It won't do more than 2000 miles a year with me!

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

I personally would but I'm sure others will have different opinions. When I was looking (i'm not now as I don't have the cash!) I was trying to find something that had done less than 100,000 miles. Not entirely sure what I was basing that on but my dad said that was a good idea and I trust his views on life!

Thanks, my dad says don't buy one, stick with the trailer............!

If it is a Master or Movano pay the extra and go for the lower mileage, but please do the checks to see if it is genuine mileage. PM me if you want to know how to do it for free without paying for an HP check. I have first hand experience of a high mileage Master which died for ever......unless it has a full service history, cam belt change etc, don't touch it with a barge pole.

Don't buy a van. Buy a Chassis pan cab and then you can get a far superior build on it rather than converting an existing van. The best vehicle is the Renault Master as it has a very low centre of gravity. Get it done by a specialist company as there have been a number of accidents where horses have become trapped in them. Reputable companies will find a good chasis pan cab for you.

Completely agree with this.

But if I had to buy one I would pay the extra for the newer with less miles.
