Just wondering how they fare in muddy fields? I'm assuming they're not 4 wheel drive so would get stuck in the mud just like your average car would that's not a 4x4?
Thanks

Okay thank you, in which case how does anyone manage this time of year with them? So many venues near me just have fields for parking and with the ground being how it is at the moment they must all either not go or get stuck then?

I've been to an event today. There were 4x4s and trailers, 3.5t lorries, and 7.5t+ lorries. All of them sunk as well as each other! Everything was towed on and off, so I think if the ground is bad you aren't going to be any better off than anything else

Most venues will have a tractor to tow you on and off if all parking is in a field, I have never not gone anywhere because of the risk of getting stuck, there has always been a tractor waiting to help.

I can confirm that yep they do get stuck in mud (from personal experience of getting stuck on a verge after a meet and having to knock on a farmers door and beg him to tow me out as equine rescue were going to take a few hours to get to me... in hindsight loading the horses up before trying to move the box was a mistake!). I would reccomend checking where your tow point is so that you don't have to clamber about in the mud / dark looking for the damn thing!

Most larger events expecting you to park in a field will have arrangements for towing stuck boxes out (my fav was a mega beast of a tractor at a TREC event last "summer" where we managed to reduce most of the coralling / parking field to mud in the space of a night cos it peed it down, although actually on that occasion I didn't require its services!). Some events with a limited amount of hardstanding will often prioritise that for boxes and make trailers park in the field.
