I am putting feelers out in order to see if there are any around.
I would be aiming to buy one October time but have started looking in order to gain knowledge of the market. (I also need to relocate to another area of the country with my horse before I worry about buying new things!)
There doesn't seem to be any around that would suit my needs.
I have just one horse who is 15 hands and therefore I am not fussy about height or width particularly. Although she does not enjoy the newer side loading renaults particularly.
A good payload would be a bonus however not essential as it would be just her travelling. She is 570kg. If I could bring a pony sized companion along occasionally it would be a benefit although not essential!
I want a mechanically sound lorry that does not resemble a garden shed on wheels and look like it will fall apart on the way home or the floor give way as soon as my horse sets foot in it!
I also do not want a lorry that is older than me!!! My ka was younger than a fair few lorries and fell apart due to its aging engine and parts.
I'd have an approximate (give or take) budget of £4500 with the aim of having something built 1998 or earlier.
Where do I look for these lorries (if they exist)?
Am I being unreasonable with my criteria?
I often look through an advert's pictures and automatically dismiss on the fact it looks like a rusty old shed on wheels.
