Hi,
I have a fiat ducato 3.5t horse box and the ply wood under the rubber matting on the ramp has rotted at the edges (ramp is metal door then ply then rubber with aluminium edges and slats).
Looking to replace the ply wood but the people we bought the box off are recommending 9mm industrial ply (due to any thicker being to heavy for the to easily open /close the ramp) which goes against what ive seen on other posts.

Any advice please in regards to size, type of ply as well as best adhesive to use to re glue the rubber to the ply. Any other tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Is it a short ramp or a long ramp? I have 9mm ply on a short ramp, but it's not strong enough for a longer ramp.

My OH uses nothing but marine ply designed to withstand wet as the name implies.

Glue I can't help with, ask Screwfix?

Inside, bang it hard all over with a hammer and listen to the noise. It should sound solid, it will be different if the floor is rotting. Underneath, tap it and listen the same, it should "ring" if its sound and if not your hammer will probably go through it!
