Hello,

Has anyone had a 3.5T (master, Movano, Interstar) converted to a horsebox (van type, not coachbuilt). I'm looking at doing this so I can specify things like the breast bar etc. Also from my research it looks like it may be a good option economically if I can find the right van.

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations of companies that do these types of conversions, any you had found particularly good. I've been looking a Hammer Horseboxes and GC Horseboxes.

Any hints and tips from people who have done this are welcome too!!

Thanks

:)

Hi!

I've just had a renault master converted by three counties horseboxes and it's brilliant. The owner, Paul and Kate, have been fantastic! I first contacted them over a year before I bought one and picked their brains for all the sorts of things that you need to look for when buying a second hand box.

There is a list of all the different things that they can do with the conversion on their website and they will bend over backwards to get want you want within your budget.

I really like the fact that they reinforce the bit between the horse and the cab (not all companies do and lots of 2nd hand sellers can't tell if it was done at the point of conversation). They do a quick release bar between the horse and the 'living' which if the worse should happen could make the difference between life and death. And they do barn style doors rather than the orning types.

I have heard great things about Travel Two horseboxes too.

Yep, I do like the look of 3 counties too - might have to save my pennies a little more!! That sounds a lot like my priorities; barn style door, quick release breast bar, reinforced bulkhead etc

Anyone else have any recommendations...?

:)
