That picture still makes me sad even though the last I heard the horse was doing well.

Unfortunately sport horses are always going to be injured and people will always find one aspect to blame - if it was not age, it would be distance, or something and before long you have nothing left.

There was a pic of Barbaro with a blurb in the NY Times Sports Section today -- said he is doing so well that he will soon be going to a farm in KY (Stud presumably).

There was a rumour that he was going to Kentucky Horse Park - where Cigar and other champions are who were unable to perform as a stud. However these rumours were addressed by his owners saying he is not going there, and they are looking for a warm place where he can get out more. One would presume they mean Florida, it is not that far away, has the warm weather, and he has friends there. However with EHV I think that has been put on hold.

The earliest he will go to stud is 2008 - but that is a bridge that has yet to be crossed.
