is she really a good rider? or just so young that she's relaxed because she has no idea of the danger she is in at that age?
i used to put my daughter up on my 16.2 tb when i brought her in from the field, it was a long walk and it was easier for me and daughter, (she always wore a hat) she would hold onto the front of the rug and i would lead. At that age she had no fear and a lot of people would comment that she was going to be a real good rider when she got older etc. move on a few years (she's now 11)and she refuses to get on the 15hh boy as she is much more aware of what can go wrong, she is a nervous nelly even on her own pony!! i actually think my daughter showed more promise as a 4/5 yr old than she does now, not that i would ever tell her that, she's lost the confidence of youthful ignorance.
