seen an add for a 3yo tb that has raced 3 times. He is 15.2hh

Its one of those photos that you fall in love with.

My question is:

Are tbs easy to re train.

I loved the racers I worked with. All worked quite well in the school and jumped reliably and were great with traffic. Some were bit hyper some (1 big lad in particular) were very quiet and lazy. Most were just horses and would have a go at most things.

I bought a 2 yr old Tb that had raced 4 times. She was forward going but not silly & a pleasure to work with. Of course she was very green as regards schooling / dressage / jumping but wasn't difficult to retrain.

all depends on the individual horse, who trained it, who broke it and how it has been ridden through its training and how competant a rider you are.

very much this ^^^^
they are very intelligent tho and quick to learn. Must admit I prefer a NH type rather than a flat horse. apart from being backed at a more sensible age etc, they know more and are more ready to get on with. If I got a young flat horse I would have to turn it away for longer to let it grow up and be a horse for a while. I have to say though, my girl is the horse of a lifetime and couldn't see myself with anything else.
Why is the one you like leaving racing?
