So today I have packed quite a bit in! Started work with Phil at 8am (after doing horses and dogs ), planting spiky plants for a big landscaping project he needs done asap. Finished at 3pm, raced home, got changed went to Asda ( big mistake, it was heaving) I had no choice seeing as last night we had to eat bacon and chip butties for tea!
Put away shopping and headed off to Aintree for the 85cms, with The special one (Sovereign).
Warm up was a bit random as a woman on a coloured horse kept going round on the wrong rein and cutting across the practice fence
We went into the ring just as a big firework display lit up half of Aintree! Unfortunately I got a bit distracted too, and instead of circling and getting his attention, I just let him run to the first fence, which he leapt like a flippin cat, and then landed with his back legs on the back bar (ouch!), but the big plus is that he wasnt fased by this and carried on round clear! So all in all a good round. (and no reversing in sight!)
Hoping to go again in a fortnight and do the clear round with Em, who will of had a bit more indoor practice by then.

well done!! thats great

Sounds v promising, esp if warmup not ideal.

What is the Aintree centre like, saw it on TV racing programme last weekend and it looked really fab. Lucky you having it close by.

I have to say I was sceptical initially, but went twice to watch and then went to compete two weeks ago. It is such a fantastic venue, although we are quite spoilt round here for good indoor venues, (I have south view, bold heath, myerscough, osbaldeston and barton all less than an hour away!)
Its only 7.4 miles from my house and 6 of that is motorway! It is going to be tough making myself go to other places with somewhere like that so handy!
