My border terrier pup has stopped eating her dry biscuits and i have tried literally everything to get her to eat! we've put water/gravy in the food, tried wet food with and without biscuits, put pasta, rice, chicken etc. etc. in her food to tempt her and she just doesn't really seem to want to eat it. the only thing she will eat is scrambled egg atm. and she eats her biscuits she has before bed (little pedigree gravy bone things)... i don't know what else to try and her weight has dropped. We've tried the giving it to her and if she doesn't eat it then tough, but i need to find a solution as she is needs to bulk up a bit! I know we shouldn't give her "people food" but she needs to eat and she doesn't get huge amounts, just enough to tempt her!
I was wandering whether she finds the biscuits too small as she seems to struggle to crunch them? and sort of swallows everything....she seems happy enough to eat our other dogs bigger biscuits?
teeth are fine, shes a bright and playful puppy, wet nose etc etc. hasn't been throwing up and poo is all good, wormed reguarly etc. etc...
Note- she is eating but not enough, as in if i give her biscuits with scrambled egg she will eat some of it (mainly the egg), but she should be eating lots more!
we have tried just plain biscuit for a few days to stop her being fussy, but im not sure its her being fussy as its not like she eats loads of anything else (if that makes sense?!)
our lab went through this phase but we eventually worked out she didn't like the bowl, so once changed she was fine...we've tried a change of bowl etc. and have had no success...
any ideas what i could do?

feed her with your other dogs. she will soon learn if she leaves it it wont be there later. nothing like another couple of dogs to make a fussy eater eat!

Sorry to be blunt..but would YOU eat boring dry biscuit all the time? Give her proper dog food..raw beef/tripe and raw chicken wings, bet she`ll munch those :D

Honestly now, you are making a rod for your own back! Decide what you want to feed the pup and stick with it. Feed him with the other dogs and treat him the same as them. Put the bowls down and walk away. i'd like to bet you are hovvering over him, watching his every mouthful, maybe picking some up and handfeeding to get him going, adding something extra tasty if he walks away? Am I right? All of those things will only make him more fussy and / or anxious about mealtimes - and I know because I speak from experience :o (my lurcher still refuses to eat until I leave the room!) A dog won't starve himself so yes, he may refuse to eat for a couple of days but when he realises its what's in his bowl or nothing he will get on with it (BTW I use the same principle now on my son and it works a treat :p:D )

As to what to feed, if you want to stick with dry food I'd give him what your other dogs get, or if you want to change try Skinners, CSJ or Fish4dogs. I personally like to add a topping but I go with one that soaks into the biscuit i.e. lowsalt gravy, tinned fish in oil, porridge etc

Good luck and let us know how you get on :)
