4 year old Chocolate lab looking for a new home

A person I know on facebook is having to try and find a home for his male lab due to a relationship break up. The bloke is currently homeless and his ex is giving him days to try and find somewhere for the dog to go.
The dog's been brought up with 5 kids, 2 cats, another dog and horses.
Good on lead and off.
Sounds like a perfect dog......however he does have mild hip dysplasia (sp?) and he's been on medication (metacam) for it. Vet didn't want to operate. His owner has told me he's been off the metacam for 6 months and has been fine.

This dog is in Hampshire near Alton and if anyone's interested they can message me on here and I'll pass on the owner's details

How sad but I would suggest that you point them to Labrador Rescue. They will take him, assess him and find him a suitable home. There are reps all over the country.

Thanks Dunthing Already done but I know how busy rescues can be so thought getting the word out about him wouldn't do any harm

Is he looking to fully rehome or temporary help until he sorts himself out?
I'm about 45 minutes from Alton and could offer temporary help/fostering if that is of any use.

He was looking to re home permanently and has found him a new home. Fingers crossed it all works out Thanks for the replies
