4 year olds first clip

I dont find there is any age/clipping behaviour correlation, fully clipped a lice infested foal (mane and tail too bless him!) and stood good as gold - but tbf, was totally anaemic.. then clipped a 13 year old who tried simply tried to kill me..

H was clipped for the first time 2 years ago and was so disturbed he had to be twitched (I wasn't there - don't what I would have thought of that if I had been!). Then last year he stood ok, was a bit of a plonker (apparently - not there again), but didn't need twitching. Then this year, I arrived half way through and he had been standing like an angel and, I think almost asleep!! I guess he realized in the end that it wasn't actually going to kill him!

Therein lies the reason why I prefer twitching to sedation as they still know what's going on whilst being 'doped up' at the same time!

My lad has always been good to clip thank god!

No thanks, I think I'll keep mine.
It's not like I don't do my fair share of tossers, I did a 3yo a couple of weeks ago who actually tried to climb over the stable door, despite being twitched, and the head lad hanging on for dear life.
Had to give up in the end, and finish him the following day with the help of some happy juice courtesy of the vet.
I think I might try the earplugs on him next time though, see if that makes a difference.

Finished mine today - started him Monday just to get him used to clippers and did an Irish then took it up the neck with half head today. (am not a great one to follow rules!)

We had less snorting today and he was actually good as gold. I will see how this goes as he's not terribly hairy and doesn't need legs off.
