This may be a totally silly question but which works out cheaper and easier to maintain?

It would be a Volvo 4x4 and probs an ifor trailer Vs. an older 3.5 tonne.
 
If your nr essex the emissions may be a problem for you?

For me the jeep and trailer worked out cheaper as my oh uses the jeep as his main car. Otherwise without the emission zones i would def have opted for a lorry.

I think it depends on the 3.5 tonner there are a lot about that have been built out of a worn out van and are money pits!! if its a nice one then would/ could be cheaper!! remember one horse only, and a trailer could take 2 with the right tow vehicle I think it would realy depend on how reliable each ends up you could have some nasty bills with either, the little box better on fuel, the volvo could do other jobs ...
