I need to buy a new car , and would like some recommendations. Fed up with proplems with my current car, which is in the garage again!!!! and its only 2 years old.

It has to be a 4x4, and have the ability to pull a trailer (2 horse)
Has to be Diesel, I dont mind 2 or 4 door,
Im going to get something 2 years or less years old, and will have about 15,000 to spend

so what has everyone else got, are you happy with it? etc...

thanks Jenny

oh, must add, I must be able to get my spanish mastiff in the back boot bit, not the back seats, (shes a big dog, 8 1/2 stone) at the moment ive got a Renault Kangoo, and she gets in the back of there really well, she dont go in very often but its if i need to take her to the vets

if I did not have her i would have another pickup truck

thanks everyone who has replies so far,

We bought our first 4x4 in 1992, SWB Isuzu Trooper and were so imporessed with everything changed it to a LWB Trooper. When we had the SWB the Trooper still had a decent size boot, whereas some we looked at had virtually nothing behind the seats. We love our Trooper!

I have just bought a year old Kia Sorento and hope it will be good

You would get plenty of change out of 15k..... mine was £12,775 and is mint. I will also get the balance of the three year warrantee so no big bills for the next two years

Another vote for Nissan Terrano - I've had 4!!

3 x 2.7 TDI and 1 x 3.0 TDI - all were fantastic to tow, I found them very reliable as well as very economical to run and the as standard equipment on some are only optional extras on other jeeps. The touring and elegance are the top spec ones to go for

Well I will go looking when I get my Kangoo back, driving the Dodge Ram at the moment, but at 12mpg theres no way im driving down to the coast where most of the car dealers are (im in Spain by the way LOL) costs me £50 in fuel to drive down there, but there is a Nissan dealer in the next town to where I am, so will pop in there tomorrow.

I do like the Nissan Navara, but if I have a back on it, I would still struggle to get Penny in, as they are high, and shes not the most agile of things LOL

kia sorrentto , had ours since new 2003, tow car of year 3 years running , tows like a dream, is called katy and we wouldnt swap her lol , only downside is pitting of alloy wheels due to brake dust

I would recommend you have a look at the Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a 2005 one and it tows very well, plenty of room in the back for your dog and it comes with a few extras as standard if you know what I mean!
I'm going to swop mine in for a new one this year!

Kia Sorento, fantastic car. Bought mine 2.5 diesel XS (full time 4WD with low ratio selectable), 55 plate with 18 months left on the warranty for just under £14k (you can get them much cheaper privately - I got mine from the local dealership). Leather seats, climate control, cruise control, sunroof, I LOVE it

Tows beautifully, I towed my horse for the first time yesterday and you seriously don't know he's there, the gear ratios are just perfect for towing.

I get about 32-33mpg out of it.
