OH has finally given in an agreed toget a 4x4 for towing our ifor 505, will need something that can tow it with 2 horses in (not giant one) but want something that can do it easily. What do you all use for it? I like the izuzu troopers and he likes ford rangers! Tho would be good if it was auto. Any reccormendations other than these? Or a reason I can make him side on the trooper?? Thankyou in advance

We have a jeep grand Cherokee and love it but it's very thirsty so we had an LPG conversion done in it so it's dual fuel. We also have a Volvo xc70 which I drive all the time in preference to the jeep. It's super comfy and we have the family pack in it so Thr grand kids are well looked after too plus a factory fitted dog guard. Both cars are automatic. The Volvo is diesel and we average around 38mpg tootling around country lanes to and from the farm/fields. I prefer the Volvo for a number of reasons but one of the main ones is the amount of tack I can stick into the boot and get in/out easily. Its like a tardis!

I used to tow with a Terrano II which was amazing but more recently have been using a Vauxhall Frontera which is an auto. Pulls like a train but got to sell it :( Personally I'd never get a Ford. I know someone with a Trooper and they love it but I think it's a manual one, not an auto.

Check the braked towing capacity of the ford ranger! I have a feeling it's only about 2 tonnes!!
I have a jeep grande Cherokee auto!! Tows like a dream!!

I love my suzy trooper for towing and everyday driving. Cant rate it highly enough even with 2 on board u can barely feel them. A real workhorse. Mine is automatic too.
