i'm thinking of taking my 4yo ish x to the equestrian life qualifiers took him to 2 previous shows and he was an angel.was going to try whp as is a born jumper but do you think it might be to much to soon help please as don't want to push him to hard x

Dont know what the equestrian life qualifiers are but you need to assess whether your horse is physically and mentally ready for doing what the qualifiers ask for. Also, should you qualify, is the final going to ask for more and would your 4yo be ready.

Personally, youve got the rest of the horses life to do qualifiers and i like to keep things unpressurised and simple with young horses. Doing too much too soon is never worth it.

personally if your 4 year old is mature and you think he is ready to compete then i would take him, it will give him experience and get him used to new surroundings ONLY TAKE HIM IF YOU FEEL HE'S READY. equestrian life is different from local shows but is a very good experience for both horse and rider
