Don't need a full sized one as it's only for the shetland's lammy paddock, maybe 5 or 6ft instead of the full 12ft gates... I have no idea where to buy one! We have a farm shop but they're mega expensive and they only do the galvanised ones (which seem to be an easy target for metal thieves in our area).

Any ideas??

I use 6ft sheep hurdles as gates where the gate is within the boundaries of the field

You can get ones with small wire squares on the lower part of you are worried about rails

I slide mine down over a round tree stake knocked in to the ground, this works well as the hinge end and very little work needed

I know they are metal but they are pretty cheap

Alternatively my local Countrywide has narrow wooden gates that are quite good value

We bought our last gate online. Company based in Melton Mowbray, had it delivered all for about £50. Metal gate but a bargain.

I make mine!

Timber gates are easier to repair and when they are beyond repair, they go on the wood burner!

Not difficult for anyone who can do DIY to make. I use 3"x1.5" rails, then just copy an existing gate. You'll need to but the ironmongery, though, I haven't got around to making that yet!

If anyone wants photos, I might be able to post some.

That's fab, thanks! I looked at Mole Valley first but they say to call for prices and I'd rather just click through online... call me lazy but it seems so much less complicated.

Will take a look at the links and go order one :)
