5 months pregnant and...I can't find a sharer!

You're all so far away, only horses that the owners are scared of are for loan/share round here I think and they usually want you to pay to school them til they're not scared of them anymore :( Move your horses north west guys, abundance of riders knocking about here! Haha.

move down a bit!! i used to ride kestrel of glencree and he is the father of my new foal! :D

I'm told that riding a stallion is a different experience. I had a very good rider for mine but, as good riders go, she went.:( Never mind, he will be in with his wives shortly.

^^ what JFTD said ship him down here and we will share him whilst he isnt on his manly duties :D He can do pc and rc with me and can do trec and other stuff with JFTD. Sorted! :D

Might be a bit chilly, last time I was there they were still awaiting being built!

Could always ship Joe down to me while he's not in the with mares :p

Stable now built but not totally complete. What's the betting nobody wants to go inside anyway? They don't use the field shelter, so why should they use a stable?

Not bad for a "free for uplift", then taken down and re-erected by one old man, eh?

My sister is looking yet she's 5'10 (only about 8.5/9stone though) and 15yrs old. She's mature and capable though and frequently rides 14.2s but I can imagine she'd be too leggy for yours at only 14hh? We're nr Cirencester.

Sorry but I've had dibs on him for years. No chance of me sharing him. Other than for PC, which I might let you have him for. He will be very busy with film work though as he's such a sexy beast :D

Looks good to me! I still think it might be a bit chilly in your winters though :p Hope for the horses using it though, mine are often found 2 or 3 to a stable at the moment sheltering from the sun / rain :o

My new home looks nice :p

Needing a rider here too!

I have a 14.1 Highland stallion who is perfectly schooled and an absolute softie. He was champion ridden Highland at county level a couple of years ago. I'm 72 so past it!

The down side is, I'm about 30 miles north of Inverness.

ooo ooo I am moving to inverness in July, but only for 10 weeks :( not sure how i'd manage the extra 30 miles either lol:rolleyes:

To be honest I am looking for someone who has experience hacking alone (so probably over 18) as there is no school at the yard and I wouldn't feel confident leaving a 15 year old go riding on her own, especially as there is lots of wildlife in Ciren park and he can be spooky if a deer/pheasant jumps out of nowhere!(he is a horse after all...)
(Although I started hacking him alone when I was 14 -13 years ago- but I already had had him for a year and had learnt a lot with him hacking with others!)
One of my friends rides him about once a week/every other week at the moment and she is 6', as he is "chunky" she doesn't look too big on him :-)

I am still riding him (no I'm not starting a debate!) at 25 weeks but only once a week for about half a hour walk for him to get out of his field really!

I have put an ad in a tack/feed shop but no luck with that and on 3 free websites but again no luck.
I have also put an ad on 2 Gloucestershire horsey facebook page but no reply either.
I don't go to any events, don't use a farrier, haven't put anything at the agri college near us because they are on holiday for the Summer now.
I haven't tried riding school as I have been told they don't like people putting adverts at their place as it could potentially stop some of their customers going there!
:-(

Trouble is people who don't own horses don't go to the tack or feed shop really! I went to one the other day as I was passing just to look at their adverts as I am looking for a horse to buy, I knew there wouldn't be anything and if I was looking for a share I probably wouldn't have bothered... I did enjoy looking at all the feeds and things for fun though :-)

Are you within hacking distance to a riding school? I see your thinking about taking away their custom, but it wouldn't necessarily be like that if they would till have lessons anyway. When I was at a riding school being a sunday helper when I was younger I was absolutely DYING to go and do a show of ANY kind, but we never got to use the RS horses so if something like this came up I would have been thrilled!

Also I was recently looking for grazing and I thought outside the box and emailed the parish council, I got loads of replies including people looking for shares (no grazing though of course).

It's up to you what age you would feel comfortable with really, I would think a 16-17 year old would be OK if they are experienced :-)

From September I'm planning to start looking for a horse to go cuddle and play with (and ride!) up Carlisle way. I had a brief look towards the end of the Easter holidays and there's nothing around up there. :(

Have you tried Preloved? I've found a couple of past shares on there as also my loan horse. Also heard of other people having luck finding shares on there :)

Also no harm in riding while pregnant! I'm planing on riding as long as possible! I've known people to ride right up until 8/9 months! My midwife has told me that as long as I trust my horse there is no harm in me carrying on. She also said that the horse will let you know if it isnt happy with you riding it!

It's super annoying that you're all so far away! Otherwise I would help with everyone :D. There is literally no one in my area that can offer me a horse share, it's really quite rubbish! Whenever I look too, it always seems to be that the majority of shares (and the really amazing ones) are all in England, which is obviously far to far. Good luck in finding someone, everyone who is looking :)!

No I'm not within hacking distance from a riding school unfortunately...
Maybe I should email the parish council then ;-)
