Does anyone know how long roughly vets keep blood samples from when they vet horses or does it vary amongst practices?

the last vetting i had done bloods were kept for 6 months

Same here - bloods kept for 6 months...

Six months is usual time I believe. They are kept at a special lab, not the vets (as I understand it), and you can pay to extend the time they are kept beyond the 6 mths.
