Just wondering is this "normal". Horse is 5 (6 in July this year) and still has 2 baby teeth at the front. They are being pushed out by his "adult" teeth, but haven't dropped out yet. They don't seem to be causing him any problems/pain etc, so could it just be a waiting game? Have consulted the dentist obviously who said its probably just a late bloomer, and wait to see if they drop out. Has anyone else had this experience?? Just after some advice or reassurance if possible. x

posted this in CL but it may belong in here, unsure! x

Is it the corner teeth that are still there? The top ones usually come out at 4½ and the lower at 5.

If the adult teeth are already emerging then it is important to have the baby teeth removed as their presence can affect the line the teeth grow in.

I rmember having a horse at my riding school that at 19 still had one of his lateral baby teeth. My dentist removed it! We were surprised that no-one had done this in the past.
