Good morning!
I'm looking to get a decent 50g turnout for my IDx. Mark Todd fit him perfectly and I'm a huge fan but ideally I'd like a 1200D and 50g. Premier equine badly rub his withers and rambo seem to twist.
Any recommendations? Many thanks!

I like Gallop for my big ID mare and QH

I had Amigo but it became soaking through after 1 season
Shires was too tight round their front's so sold them.

I like the big horse shop for rugs for big shouldered traditional and have plenty of depth to the rugs. True to size, and good customer service. Also good value for money

Swish. Although still a mini skirt on mine, they are a generous cut.

Ruggles Heavy Horse are a good fit but I've found the rugs themselves wear out quick.

I've nothing positive to add but I've had really poor quality LW rugs from both swish & ruggles. I'm talking about belly straps not stitched on properly, seams that split open after a few days use & just generally ripping easily. The ruggles was waterproof for about a year, the swish was never fully waterproof & probably wins the prize for the worst rug I've ever owned. Fit wasn't great on either.

I've just bought a 40g for the Ardennes from the Big Horse Company and it's lovely. He doesn't need to be warm just hates getting wet. We went for extra broad because he's.... extra broad.

I have Swish and Ruggles and the fit and quality are not consistent. My mare's 100g Ruggles is a lovely fit but her same size rain sheet comes up much smaller (she's part bred draft). Swish I need to go up a size and they seem to have changed their designs and necks are a bit tight. Not entirely convinced her 50g is still waterproof either

I liked Gallop for my Westphalian Kaltblut. She was 16hh with a very short back but a barrel-shaped body. Gallop 6'9" did not look like a mini-skirt on her, while other, more expensive rugs did. If she had to have a 7' rug to cover her ribs, they were too long for her back.

The only thing with Gallop is they make the pony ones too short in the chest, so their bellies can be seen lower than the rug. So looking at getting a better pony one for her.

Horseware but I don't think they are that generous a fit. I am very happy with my Swish 50g (have 2 for 2 horses). Absolutely waterproof so far but haven't used them for that long so can't comment on durability
