Hi everyone
I was wondering if you would be able to spare five minutes of your time to fill in a questionnaire on horse riding for me for my third year university dissertation

I am trying to find out if horseback riding can effect your quality of life and well-being. also if those with low social support find the horseback riding experience more beneficial and meaningful than those who have a good social support network around them

it is a two part questionnaire. the first part are the questions listed below. then, in a couple of weeks, i will send a link to the second part of the questionnaire to those who are willing to take part. the second questionnaire compramises of the same questions as the first, to see if there have been any changes to your answers

If you could help out by sparing five minutes of your time to complete this for me i would greatly appreciate it

thankyou
sophie hynes.

Sorry -I am neither a "horseback rider" nor a "non horseback" rider.

These terms are not British English.

what about using survey monkey to do it online. it would be much easier, quicker for people and would also be anonymous. some of the questions i'd fill a bit shy about answering in public as i know people on the forum in real life would know me and read them.

I guys. Have never used this before so I don't really know how to do it more an anonymous. I did provide my email address? Sophiehynes92@hotmail.co.uk? You could always copy and paste the survey into an email and send it me that way then it's anonymous? Te second part has been set up via my university on a website so is anonymous and each of you who complete this I will email with a participant number so I can refer to you as your number not your name.. Thankyoufor your help. I was handing out paper copies for this first part but struggled to get enough participants so that is why I have put it on here to try ad get some more help x

I am sure you would get more replies if you used Surveymonkey on line.

This! I also think you have ethical issues with not providing anonimity for participants. Maybe some universities turn a blind eye at undergrad level, but I would have been slated if I'd tried to do what you've done for my MSc research.

I sympathise it is very difficult to get a large enough sample of responses especially if you need the same participants to respond twice.

Are you trying to triangulate your data by doing a before and after study? i.e cross ref who said what before and after as a check of validity of responses? If so there are other ways you could achieve the same effect. For example it is acceptable to compare different methods of study .ie. you have a decent sample of questionnaires and you could also run a small focus group (who also do a questionnaire) which would add qualitative depth to your quantitative analysis. I don't really know what your doing. I think the point I'm making is that if you are struggling to get data then unless you really need to slog it out maybe there is another approach which is perfectly justifiable which makes your life easier. :)

There are some good books out there on research design which might help.

Good luck.
