6 month old cob foal ( what feed )

Iv got a 6 month old cob foal coming in a couple off weeks who will no doubt be a good doer so what feed would u suggest?
He will be on ad lib hay at night and out by day so I was thinking a balancer but which one? Suregrow seems popular but isn't it aimed at tbs? I just want to add vits/mins but not make him fat

Just get him a red rocky mineral lick and ad-lib hay and grass

It can be used for any type or breed of horse and is a very good all round balancer too for older ones/broodmares that don't require calories but still need the right amount of vitamins and minerals.
I used it for 3 yrs on the two foster foals I reared by hand, They were cob x TB and D & H recommended that I gave a bit less than the recommended amount which suited them very well; they were on it from one month old and not once did they ever have huge growth spurts, it was always steady growth which is what you need. They had that alone along with meadow hay and grazing plus their Equilac (milk powder) I don't think I could have found anything better for them.

I feed my 14 month old section c Pure Feeds Stud. He's doing really well on it and looking fab. I did contact Pure Feeds before I bought it as I was concerned it might be too much for him. They were very helpful and said I could always feed their Fibre Balance instead.
