Hi Guys,
My lovely border terrier pup 6 months old decided he wanted to be superman 10 days ago and he jumped off my dads penthouse balcony. (30ft) He had no internal damage.
Unfortunately he had to be plated there was no option he broke the bottom of the femar which had effected the patella as well. Which I was gutted about.
So he has gone from a dog that is pretty much out all day every day at the yard to being caged. He is used to the cage as he stays with my mum in one when I go to work. But normally he is pooped by the time we put him in there.
My question to you guys is. We are 10 days into this and he has to be caged alot to ensure he doesnt go mad and rest the leg. He is bored stiff. When he does come out he really does go mental. For a little dog he is strong to keep hold of.
The vet wouldnt give a mild sedative as he said one he isnt a fan of them (fair enough) two he thinks it would effect balance so it could cause more damage.
So what would be your suggestions. I was horrified 5 more weeks of being caged. Donald ( the dogs name) really is a little monkey. Is there a calmer I can give him. Anything to keep him entertained. At present all chews and kongs are lasting the longest 10 minutes :-(
