Quarrie is 6 months old :) such a great dog, easy pup in all respects and great company. We recently went to Mull for work and a holiday and he stayed in the hotel and was perfectly behaved as well as going on ferries etc. We're half way through first scent work course which he loves and is really good at (obvs, being the best pup ever ;) ) and he can be a right clown.

when we're at class-he's the only one who never takes his eyes off the instructor when she's explaining things and demonstrating (he's a great watcher anyway). He's not the only gun dog in the group but don't know if this is a breed specific thing?

IM (very humble) O, looking at the person talking makes them very trainable. Tawny looks at me all the time if she has any doubts about something, if my OH asks her to do something she looks at me.

Love him, he really looks up for it!

loo-he really is. he's not the boldest pup when comes to new people/dogs etc but when it comes to how he is on his own body he's very self assured. when he was not four months, he jumped straight up a 4ft6 vertical banking from a standstill=cleanly (he was on a lead-I wasnt expecting it lol). He's a bit of a headbanger when it comes to things like that so have to be careful that he doesn't get to jump like a nutter when we're out.

And think you are right re the trainability-also, while he has his moments, he's remarkably calm when I compare him to the other dogs of similar age at work. I've a mind to train him towards working trials, we'll see how we go. First tracking day next sunday-can't wait.

thanks all, we just love him, he's fab. I feel the need to point out that his name is nothing to do with Star Wars!

Quarrie is gorgeous. Beautiful photos. Glad you are enjoying the scentwork course - he sounds made for it. Is that last lovely photo taken by Loch a'Ghurrabain in Aros Park? It is beautiful.
