Holy guacamole! We've had Ivy 6-months as of yesterday. It doesn't feel that long ago I was on here posting about where to start with getting a dog. She celebrated it by being a Very Good Dog over the bank holiday, staying with us at a friend's house for the first time and then a second night at OH's parents where she has been quite a few times now. She was so good (or tired out!) she didn't even look in the direction of the crisps out in bowls on the coffee table and we found the addition of a house lead incredibly helpful for steering her away from the breakfast table where she's had a few incredibly good 'strikes' (head in muesli bag incident...)
I've been through phases of thinking, why did we do this?! But mostly I feel so happy to have her in our lives and to have given her a home and family. She is so loving and it's a joy to see her fear reducing and her curiosity increasing. She's been to cafes, pubs, on trains, to horse events, on big group walks, even to work with me (although we've abandoned that for now as it was a bit much managing that last time). Her coat is changing and she's put on about 2kg so she's looking much better too!
Here's to the next 6-months and beyond!
