6yo Mare won't canter, and has started refusing

I’ve learnt that you should always trust your gut. Better to potentially waste money on a vet visit that is inconclusive than have a seriously in pain horse

100% right. If you have even a little bad feeling that somethign is wrong, don't hesitate to call your vet.
