Hi all,

My lovely little lorry is having a few issues atm, one of which is when we break it seems to drag to lorry over to the left - does anyone know why this is?

Thank you

My mechanic dad used to tell me that, if my car ever did this, it would be probably be one side of the brakes more worn than the other, or else badly adjusted.

Please don't mess around with brakes and take it to a garage quickly. If you are driving along at 40 and someone pulls out straight in front of you and you do an emergency stop on a road with a bit of a camber it could skew and tip right over and kill you or your horse or you both, or you could shoot onto a pavement and kill a pedestrian.

Plus it's actually not roadworthy and if you have an accident now you have no valid insurance. If your insurance company were to get wind of it, they would not pay out.

Don't worry cptrayes :).. i'm not using it at all atm.. we've just sawned it .. but will be taxing it to take it to the garage. The brakes are working fine and are sharp as anything.. it's just that there's a slight drag to the left.

:)

OK, didn't know it was sorned of course :)

The brakes aren't OK though. It may stop, but it won't pass an MOT. Do be careful when you take it into the garage. My brakes (supposedly failsafe!) once failed just at the top of a very steep hill because of a sticky caliper, I am paranoid about brakes now.

Yeah the tax ran out yesterday funny enough. It's down to my fil to take it to the garage - i don't drive it as i'd have to do a lorry test to drive it.. and he's being difficult about it.. so until he gets himself in gear, it won't be going anywhere. He has a mechanic that comes out apparently.. :D. sounds awful about your lorry :cool:
