I arrived at the yard yesterday lunchtime to find my poor boy sweating in his NZ in the field, with a large lump either side of his neck. At first I thought he may have some sort of virus as the lumps looked a bit like some glands might be up, but today the lumps are more generalised spreading down his neck. I started using 7 day mud away on Saturday, spraying it mainly on his neck above where his neck cover goes - i.e. more or less where the lumps started. So it looks like it might be an allergic reaction, and I just wondered if anyone else had experienced similar problems.

My horse reacted badly to it too - but in his case the skin peeled. He never used to have sensitive skin but he reacted v badly to Naf Deet Fly Repellent (despite me doing a patch test) and has had horribly sensitive skin (and unsightly white marks caused by the way it caused his skin to blister) ever since.

If it goes the same way as mine did, no there isn't. I'd only done my horse's legs - washed it all thoroughly as soon as I realised but the skin on the inside top of his hinds still peeled

Now I clip all his fur off and the mud comes off with a cactus cloth instead!!

the best thing to do is to wash the area with a mild shampoo to remove any of the product left on the skin. you can also go to the chemist and buy some anti-hystamines. give him 2 tabs a day untill it goes. this should help. x

my horse has lumps come up on her neck after using this, only had a few lumps to start with but got worse and all over her neck after a few days later and are only just going down after a week and half. it was either that spray or something in the field! glad they are going down, saves me a vet bill!

My pony came up in lumps too; there were lots of them; and they were quite big but after 3 days they went.

I only put it on once (one lump came up, and then more)
