I can hand on heart say my JRT's arre lovely and are great with my 3 children.

Very sad. Knew it wasn't a staff or staff x as the press are not too happy to yell that out, even if wrong.

So very very sad for the family. 8 days old and totally unexpected. Also feel dreadful for the dogs owner as he or she must be besides themselves with guilt as well. RIP little Harry.

A terrible tragedy and heartfelt thoughts to the family, it just goes to show any breed of dog is capable of doing this without the proper socialisation. A new born babies cries are so animal like that any dog could be mistaken.

How do you know that this baby was alone with the baby? For all we know, nanny may of been bottle feeding on her knee when the dog attacked, a nasty bite to the newborns thigh would of severed a main blood vessel there and then.

I think we need to wait for the enquiry for the full facts of what happened.

Terrifying. As said, no dog should ever be left unsupervised around children.

Tragic. My thoughts go out to all involved, it does say in local paper it was a bite rather than a "savaging" so it could be the dog wasn't alone with the baby. A newborn is so vulnerable, and the noises they make could sound like a small prey animal to a dog. RIP Harry.
