stangs

I thought I had done quite well developing a stiff upper lip to prepare myself for visiting sales. That is, until I saw some of the horses who'll be attending Brecon this weekend (and who knows what will show up as a late entry):
Several horses in their late teens, a mix of broodmares to ex-PC ponies; a 20yo mini shetland mare; and two Welsh D stallions: Coednewydd Fighting Spirit, who is 20, and Coednewydd Express who is 24.
I understand that your best bet for selling an older stallion is at a sales where hundreds of breed enthusiasts will be able to view him, but for them to go from having lived at one stud for decades to the auction environment, never to see their home, herd mates, mares, again?
I really hope they get a good home together.
