Have used this in the past on a super fit cob x who I hacked out twice a day and hunted and jumped regularly . It sent him crazy, but eventually once he had settled on the extra energy he got used to it and it kept weight on him during cold winters and gave him more stamina.
3 year old mare, hacking out slowly . Nd her since a yearling and every winter she drops weight rapidly. On ad lib haylage and two feeds a day. But now we are in work she is bf, I am feeding speedi beet, fast fibre and spillers conditioning fibre twice a day, stabling at night with ad lib haylage she always has some left in morning, and 9-12 hours turnout a day depending n my work hours. I'm planning of turning her away to good grass in February , but I gave her two days trial packs of power and performance last big and night before ( one trial pack per feed) rode her for an hour today, the reason for trying it with her is I've been recommended it by Allen and page to keep weight on her due to extra calories. She was initially a little hot when we got onto the open sands a mile away from one, ut settled and produced some cracking work. I'm not worried about her being a little got to begin with out riding as she settled really quickly today after a little trot, but does anyone else feed it to bf horses ???? She's doing really well, never wears boots, is self trimming and rock crunching.... Don't want to change this
