Just to add, for the search for causes - your saddle looks really far back in a couple of photos, could it have slipped? Back looks almost on loins...

Looking at the saddle and not the numnah, the back of it is behind his last rib and therefore will cause him problems. It looks like it may have slipped.

He looks a fabulous horse with a cracking jump. I don't know how you sat that dirty stop at the triple bar! I think you are right to get him checked out if it is not in his nature to put in stops like that. One of my horses would attempt to jump anything even on a poor stride, but one day at a competition she started to refuse, even in the collecting ring. I found out she had tweaked her shoulder. It took four months before she was okay to jump again but when she was, she was back to her old self.
