I know this is shockingly out of date but I was considering if anyone would be interested and I have just come to the conclusion someone out there might be so I will post anyway…

Since completing our first 80T at Strathallan we have had a ribbon-tastic end to our boptatic season with three shiny rosettes :) The first being at Gleneagles HT back in the second week of October ( I did warn you that it was very late!). I was planning to do the intermediate class but I wasn’t really ready as had WD from last few runs due to awful weather running up to this event. So we dropped back down to the novice class as there is always a next time to move up once we feel 100% ready for the challenge!

On the day - we pretty good weather despite loads of rain before hand and the ground had a fair cut but was very good considering. Gleneagles did a really good call by having the warm up in the large outdoor arena - which is larger than alot of XC warm ups and saved the ground. We bopped off around the novice class at what was for us a pretty fast pace as I was determined not to be slow (this is my normal issue as I enjoy XC too much and check out too much scenery). The course had a few welcomed changes from last year - including water jump with water in it, jump two strides out of water and also a step up wall which was a good challange to rider correctly IMO. We zoomed a lovely clear bar bop getting a reminder to focus a number 3 - light to dark fence which can be tricky for us. The step up round really well as did all the course - and I felt we had did a good pace all the way round. After dropping Bop back off home (lucky to live nice and close :) ) I went back as thought I would be in with a shout... turns out we where 4th out of 40 and went TOO FAST! :O We did 4.44 with the optimum being 5.20. Considering I am a good 20secs on average too slow this came as a real shock to us all (and also team FJ too!).

Then on to RC SJ the following week. I entered for the 80 and 90cm classes as I am not longer allowed to do the 70cm class (orders of dad and self as we both seem to sj 70 rubbish!). We did a lovely clear at 80cm - I kept him in a really good rhythm so very pleased. on to JO and got down a pole but ended up 3rd in a very strong class so I was super pleased! I went into the 90cm and got two poles down - the one simplest fences on the course as well! but overal delighted.

No pics :(

Then last but not least on to kirrie unaff XC ....
We did the novice class here again but its a much larger course than gleneagles IMO and runs over alot of the BE intro class and the intermediate class runs over the PN course. Ground was really good and course was a good challange for us with a few new combinations. We had been placed 6th here at start of year with one stop so aim was to improve on this and go clear. Despite being less rocket like than gleneagles the bopmiester jumped round a storm - just slight crap riding a double of roll tops where i left him a little short but he sorted us out as he is a star! Lovely confident jumps over trakaner, into water and off the bank at the top of the hill. This time I ended up the slowest clear! :O but the speed was faster than gleneagles so to be expected for us! but we achieved our aim of clear... to top it all of we got a 5th!

Overall a fabby end to our season and I am so pleased with the massive progress we have made this year and hope it continues!

Beroccas to all who managed to read this far!

Lovely pics, well done :)! I had exactly the same problem when I did the novice at Gleneagles XC on one of mine, we were much too fast even though he felt slow!

tricksibell85 - thank u, i do think he is rather dashing!

jumptoit - I tend to be "on time" at gleneagles but he does find the flat course a bit too easy to take off with me on!

OneInAMillion - I love how happy he looks in that pic! :)

Kez - I am planning to do Gleneagles combined training series and my RC winter combined training series. its all rather weather depending, if its like last year then il just be aiming to ride a few times a week! hows Rexy boy doing? he looks very smart. I hope to meet him soon.

lol lets hope the weather is not like that - it was awful!

i didnt know gleneagles have a combined training series that sounds fun - we might come up and give that a bash! Rex is doing ok, just started riding him again after his massive cut to his back leg so fingers crossed we will be out and about soon and no more drama ive had enough of it in 2010 to last a lifetime!

thanks for that just noticied an arena event planned for next year, Les Smith must be running those again :D scared to plan anything - turning into over protective mother!

I am not planning as the winter will prolly put an end to all plans! The main thing I want to aim for is may 2011 - When the local PC has a unaff ODE at Scone. well they did last year and I missed it and next yr I hope it runs so I can go!
