Suggested atheletes foot spray for treating mud fever. I used a cream that I had in my medicine cupboard ( which was for atheletes foot and sweat rash) it worked brilliantly. Sorry I can't remember the name of the poster, it was in a long thread about mud fever. When I looked up the causes of mud fever, which seem to be bacterial and/or fungal I could see why these creams would work. It may not be scientific or vet recommended, but I can say is it worked a treat so many many thanks to the person who suggested it:)

Oooh thanks for sharing!

I'm constantly battling with mud fever - tried everything including expensive cream from the vets but there is always some still lingering.

Can you use the cream on broken skin?

Umm I think so, may depend on how badly broken? I used it on my pony and put on the skin after it had softened and removed the hard skin/scabs, it seemed to heal v quickly.
