Been working with a friends two fillies, 3 and 4 years old for a couple of months now. Neither had done anything before but are well handled. They are both now lunging and long reining nicely and today the 3 year old had her first saddle on, along with her first full bridle and the 3rd time with a bit in. She doesn't care at all, in fact i think she is enjoying having stuff done with her. She's being so easy and is really getting into this grown up business.

Her new bridle is gorgeous too, she looks like a little black beauty. Having so much fun working with them and i'm so proud of how they're coming on. Just one of those pointless proud posts, sorry. Not had much horsey stuff to write about since my share/ loan got taken back in feb, but i'm really enjoying horses again now :)

Can't wait to be sat on her for the first time :D (don't worry, we're in no rush, taking it at her pace)

EEEEK! Well done you! So pleased to hear that you have got some ponies to play with. Did I mention that Rox has turned 3 this year, I'm wanting him lightly backing at the end of this year, breaking when he's 4. *wink wink!* :D :D :D xxx

Yes it's nice to have a project, although i am missing riding quite badly now. The three year old is the easiest horse i have ever met, she's too nosey to be bothered by anything and although it took her a bit to get the hang of lunging/ long reining (so far off headcollar) she was absolutely foot perfect on a long rein out on sunday, and has finally got the hang of voice aids too. It's all slotting together and it's brilliant :D

Have done less with the older bigger one as she is having sarcoid treatment so it's been a bit on and off. The only problem there is that she has to have a mad five minutes of hyper bucking and farting on the lunge etc before she settles down to work perfectly. That won't be good when it's time for a rider :/ So any tips for that would be good. She's rather over sensitive so telling off wouldn't work. I just keep her moving forward until she gets it out of her system at the moment... Will she grow out of it?

Rox will be super under saddle, but i think you're right to take it slowly as he looks to still have growing to do. Have his airs above ground calmed down yet? :p

sounds like she gets rather excited by it all just do ten minutes of lunging before trying to ride her so she can hopefully get her excitement out without unseating anyone lol x good luck and well done x
