I have a bit of a problem with my windsucker/ulcer horse.
He looks well, his tummy is under control and settled, but I desperately need some 'get up and go'/ sparkle, whatever you want to call it.
Currently he gets:
Hossnosh chaff - about 1,5kg a day
Spillers Slow Release cube - 3kg a day
ad lib haylage
NAF Thrive
RedCell
Veggie oil - 250ml a day
It's tricky - grass doesn't do him any favours, he just gets bloaty and grumpy. He won't have hay - just bl@@dy won't eat it, the same goes for sugar beet. He is alfalfa intolerant - just marvellous...
Do I risk Instant Response? Or go for some oats?
I know it all should be fibre and oil etc, but I need starch
His usual self is cheeky and a bit naughty, coming out into the school all guns blazing, taking me into jumps and asking for more, but not now
I can ride him forward, but he doesn't take me forward, if you know what I mean...
Any ideas welcome
Oh dear! It has turned into an essay
