What is more important to protect well? Want to get a really good pair of boots, but buying two pairs at £60 each is rather beyond my budget! Thinking of maybe getting one very expensive pair, and one cheaper bog-standard pair. But which is more important to protect, front or back legs? Am really thinking XC here! Thanks :D xxx

for XC i would want all legs protected. I would go with the expensive ones for the front and the cheaper models for the back.
flat work, i sometimes just put on back ones as she has been known to brush behind.

I only use boots on the front legs, but the main reason for this is that if i put boots on the back he somehow manages to scrape and cut himself  still haven't worked out how.
He has boots on the front for jumping, hacking and 99% of the time flat work as well.

Thanks charlimouse, I will defo have a good look at those!

Or maybe get a very good pair in front and a cheaper pair behind, been given a budget of £150 to get any other tack bits and bobs for new horse (boots, travel boots, bridle, couple of rugs maybe...) :)
