Hi all, I'm posting here in case anyone has any insight! I noticed today that one of my cats has a problem with her eye; she is holding it partially closed and the pupils are different sizes, so one is normal but the partially-closed-eye's pupil is smaller and stays in a slit shape while the other, bigger one seems to change with the light difference. She doesn't seem ill and as far as I can tell the eye isn't inflamed, and no excess gunk. We will be going to the vets after Christmas - have to rebook a couple of procedures - but I'd quite like to find out now, not sure whether it's concerning enough to warrant a visit!

I would say vet sooner than christmas, preferably tomorrow! As already mentioned unequal pupils can be due to head trauma, however combined with having the eye partially closed (a sign of pain, a constricted pupil can also be a sign of pain) I would be concerned about eye injury as well.

Just letting you all know we're off to the vets today, fingers crossed it's nothing to worry about. Hopefully they can check out her lumps as well (two small lumps near her neck which we think may be cysts, but last time we went she was health-checked first, and she's a redhead...got very angry...so they couldn't check, but plan is for her to have them removed anyway). I don't hold much hope she will stay calm...No hope! Question is will I be able to hold her long enough!

Love her to bits though, girl after my own heart :)

Hey all. We have a diagnosis of Horner's Syndrome, with a small ulcer in there and a bit of discharge, suggesting possibly conjunctivitis. I am to give her antiinflammatory drops and lubricant drops, with painkillers in her food, and take her back on Sunday to see what has changed, and go from there really! It's a bit red and gunky, so must be painful for her :( She behaved really well though, and the vet had a quick look at the lumps but isn't concerned so we'll be sticking to the original plan of having them removed soon.
