A cheap solution for muddy gateways!!

To all those posters looking for an affordable solution to muddy gateways.
I have just read that sheep fleeces work really well!!
Not as well as hardcore but an interesting emergency solution. I guess it’s a bit like laying a good quality carpet.
And farmers are burning fleeces as they have no commercial value atm.
I am definitely saving my (pet) sheep fleeces next year!!

I can show you a doorway i put one in. It just looks like dry flat mud just inside a door. It was mush before I put the fleece in 2 years ago.

I am literally desperate for a solution for the mud in front of our shelters
Do you have to leave it to dry or can it be used as soon as laid?

I'm not sure if you're allowed, but I'd like you to! Heavy clay here & mud control matted to death. The ground could swallow a Shetland without a trace.

Aarrgghh, I used to be on that group but came out when I realised that sloping clay + winter would make an enormous mud slide, not a track..
