A clip that is not so good.

Even when I did my first ever clip I didn't leave lines like that

Did leave some lines when I used poxy clippers that wouldn't clip but even then not that bad

My clipping isn't brilliant but would like to think it's better than that.

Imagine if they had tried a blanket clip with the lines of the blanket. ..
 
Good god! Poor little pone, looks like something the RSPCA should take in (sorry - not trying to be flippant here coz if I was the owner I'd be totally incandescent and be wanting blood :( ).

Shameful that a 16 y.o. kid was taken advantage of like that. What TF did this woman think she was doing? It wouldn't be a surprise if the poor pony made a thorough scene the next time it hears a set of clippers, poor little s0d.

Strewth! I'm totally hopeless at clipping, and know it, and before I had the good sense to employ a professional to do it, had some pretty horrendous clipping disasters - looks like something I would have done in fact!! :)

I did my first solo clip this year and it was beautiful compared to that!!!

YM nearly did that to one of her ponies when she used my clippers (But thankfully stopped after doing a tiny section on the shoulder) I told her several times to use the attachment or they will shave, not clip! I told her they are not proper horse clippers but do a good enough job if used properly. Of course I got the blame!!

I don't think even shy ol' me would have stood for someone doing that to Ned!! I wouldn't have paid.
 
Saw this one Facebook also, I'm not even sure how it's possible to be that awful at clipping? Surely she would of realised her clippers weren't suitable (possibly a very hairy pony and slightly blunt clippers I imagine?) and stopped? Not carry on then have the cheek to take £50 off the owner! Ludicrous!
 
Oh my, do you know the owner personally?

I looked up the company you mentioned, but could not find a web page or location. If you are in South or East Yorkshire I would happily come and tidy it up a bit. I won't make it much better now, but it will grow out a bit more evenly. We could spend a bit of time having the horse feel a bit more comfortable around the clippers too.
 
Just seen the full set of pictures on the Equifest FB and showed my OH who after exclaiming 'WTF!' said that it was almost certainly sheep clippers to create that pattern and the sheep invariably look like this after a competition - including the nicks and very close bits :(

Poor pony :(

I have just seen this on FB too - really shocking, poor pony, that silly woman wants to try and clip my mare, she will kick her into the middle of next week, it's what she deserves....I'm not a great clipper, not good at straight lines! for that reason I will only clip my own horses, someone offered to pay me to clip theirs today, I laughed told them I was useless at it and gave them the number of a highly reputable professional groom who does lovely cipping!!
 
I can't see how horse clippers could do that. Shocking.
Has the person who butchered, I mean clipped that poor horse put forward an explanation?

Goodness, who shears all your sheep :eek3:

FYI a shearing handpiece is run by a machine that hangs from the ceiling/a stand and would be a big job to rig it up to clip a horse.
Plus, this doesn't look like it was done with a shearing handpiece. It looks like it was done with some small trimmers with no guard on.

Hardly dare say it, but I'm feeling a teensy bit sorry for the lady who's been named and shamed.
Obviously there's no excuse for taking money for this, but we've all made mistakes in life - most of us are just lucky that social media doesn't film them!

Hopefully she'll be able to learn from this and move on.

I think it's more the fact she seems to have taken advantage of and taken money from a young girl and possible harmed her pony ... he looks positively sore

Sorry I don't know much about sheep thought they were sheared not clipped sorry for being wrong
 
the guy that shears my half dozen sheep uses a handheld clipper with a different head to the ones used on horses - he doesnt use a big rig up. You can get clippers with both equine and livestock clipping head options - you often see the livestock version sold cheap because large scale sheep shearers wont use them and obviously they are no good for horses

It's ok! :)
Google a picture of someone shearing and you'll see why it would be very unlikely that someone would try to use a handpiece to clip a horse. Plus the comb and cutter on a shearing handpiece are far too wide to use on a horse, it wouldn't cut well. You'd be more likely to have too much hair left on than too much taken off.

I'm fully aware it's a bad clip, I just can't understand how someone can actually of clipped that badly that's all.
Clipping isn't exactly rocket science and someone charged some poor kid for that mess. I was simply wondering if they left thinking that they had done an acceptable job.
 
Whereas the pony looks mortified (or still pickled if been sedated), this sheep looks positively smug he's still got his bits left :D

This. I've clipped about twice and even the first time it was better than this. I'm not suggesting I'm magically good at it (tram lines and wonky edges galore), but the sheer (sorry) mess of this is incredible - surely the equipment used has to have had something to do with it. Even if you tried REALLY HARD you'd have a job clipping that badly with horse clippers.
 
Poor owner £50 is alot to a 16 year old ( and me) its the holidays and yet she has a bald/ burnt pony.... Even my clipping is not that bad... Poor pony too...
