A cold welcome for Ludo

OK here we are. He needs a bit more work on lunging :D. But he is only two, and in a head collar. And the clip broke so I had to fetch him and start again :)

He looks a bit longer than that in real life, and his overtrack in walk is two clear hoof prints between the back and front footprints.

It's not good footage but I think everyone should be able to see that he is a really lovely mover. Since I bought him from the field without really being able to see that, I'm right chuffed.

Today I picked out his feet without tying him up. A big step forward. He already backs and moves over on command, as well. He's a quick learner.

In case anyone is wondering what the hell I was doing trying to lunge him, he does actually lunge quite well because it's how they exercised him last winter (a yearling ! )

But this morning he didn't want to play.

Yes he has been wormed, the belly is all rib cage. I'm hoping that work on the hills will bring that tummy line a bit tighter.

He looks lovely and soft and loose through the back in the lunging video - green and a bit all over the place obviously, bless him! - but looks like he'll be very impressive once he's strengthened up

I have some strides on the video that won't load from two days ago where he takes up a perfect long and low outline and trots absolutely beautifully. He has a lot of suspension, elegance and a great overtrack. I think he's the best mover I've ever owned. I'll have to get some of him working loose to show him properly, but I have no fence on the arena and I thought he would just leave :)

Just watched again actually and the video seems to have got longer now? I couldn't see the walking bit at the end before. He looks fabulous!

You were seeing it before I corrected the aspect ratio, somehow. I did correct it before I posted it, so I've no idea how! He is fabulous, thank You :)

I've looked again and the aspect ratio is still wrong on mine. He's about six inches longer than on the video I'm seeing, and very elegant. I'll try and get a better one.
