Hello everyone...
I havent posted much since last year after a particulaly upsetting number of replies to a post i made, making fun of me when i was having problems with a new pony and already feeling useless and depressed!
But i would like to post a picture of myself and said pony after 11 months of ups and downs - highs and lows and weekly lessons with a brilliant, patient and knowlegable instructor.
We have finally bonded and clicked and my nerves are all but gone. I can hack him out alone and in company, and we are working together in the school nicely. I now feel almost ready to go and compete at a low level dressage. He still has the odd temper tantrum and i still cannot pluck up enough courage to canter him on a hack (although i do plenty of canter in the school) We only walk and trot on hacks but it suits us for now and we enjoy each others company.
So to all those people who made fun of me and almost made me give up on him i would like to say....... I have a pony that i enjoy and love and am so glad that i didnt take any notice of you all.

And to all of you who supported me either on previous posts or by PM's and e mails - I would like to say 'thankyou so much' I am very grateful to you

It is very easy to ridicule or be unkind to someone when they are down for your own enjoyment and giggles but sometimes the damage has bigger consequences than you would know! It might be worth some of you remembering that!!!!

There will always be some people who aren't nice - just human nature I'm afraid. (Altho I think if you can't say something nice then you should keep it shut).

Ponio is lovely & FWIW I'm very nervous of cantering in the school but quite happy to on a hack - go figure!!!

Good on you. It's lovely to see and hear that things are starting to click for both of you. Just carry on the way you're going and your get there in the end.

Sorry to read that some people where far from helpful and nasty when somebody was asking for help.

Welcome back - I've missed you!
Great to see a photo of you and your lovely boy. You both look great. Well done - you should be very proud, all your hard work is paying off

I am not aware of your previous posts, but it is so lovely to hear that you have over come your battles and are doing so well with your ponio, it cant have been easy.

Well done for having the courage to keep going, and for returning to the Forum after some unhelpful comments.

I am glad to say that I know nothing of your previous posts, it sounds rather unpleasant.

On the happy side, well done for sticking through it, you must be really proud of yourself! You & your boy look really happy.

Welcome back, you and your horse look good together, i don't no what happend on here, but don't take any notice, i never do.

Just had a look at your previous posts to see what upset you. All i can say is I am glad you have sorted out your issues, we all need a bit of help from time to time and sometimes the hardest thing is admitting it and asking for help. xx

What a lovely post to read, I am so glad that things have worked out for you and your pony and you are doing so well together. It just shows what patience, perserverance and a will to succeed can do, good for you and nice to see you back

So to all those people who made fun of me

[/ QUOTE ]Well, I read the post in question and I have to say, none of it seemed like making fun of you (though someone did crack a hilarious joke about trying Parelli on bicycles). [ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]I actually thought that the majority of the replies varied from matter-of-fact to sympathetic and even kind, and that you were offered a range of alternatives for you to try from the drastic option of selling, to less drastic ones like lessons, long-reining, and having people accompany you either on foot, bicycle or on calmer companion horses... However, I think the main thing is that you've progressed, so on that front, well done you.

I didn't see anyone making fun of you on that thread and I am quite sure that everyone who offered you advice that time will the thrilled to hear how great you are doing!

Well done

I agree. Never saw the thread first time round, but just had a look now and I can't see anyone making fun of you or ridiculing - the stuff about bikes was clearly ironic and intended to cheer you up, not upset you.

Still, it's great that you have got help from a good instructor and made so much progress - well done!
